The Waseda Farms Growing and Learning Lab is a warm, sunny and welcoming location for students. Each school year, Sustainable Living Class grows food for use in food labs. Students receiving Special Education Services help to mix soil mediums, fill watering cans, sweep and water the floor (this helps maintain humidity). The food service department purchases cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, swiss chard and kale leaves for use in school meals across the district. During a peak harvest week, students brought 27# of cucumbers into school food service, a RECORD!
